Jokhang Temple

Barkhor Street

Barkhor Street (Old Street) is a bustling city with a mix of bustling markets, pilgrims’ kora, and ethnic crucibles. The street runs clockwise around the sacred Jokhang Temple and is especially busy at dawn and dusk. Join the pilgrimage on Barkhor Street – there are different atmospheres.

 Drepung Monastery 

A visit to Drepung Monastery is one of the most important parts of the Tibetan Lhasa city tour. Drepung Monastery is one of the “Big 3” Gelug Monasteries alongside Sera Monastery and Ganden Monastery. Built in 1416, the monastery once housed more than 10,000 monks and played an important role in Tibetan Buddhism. The

Sera Monastery

Sera Monastery is one of the three great temples alongside Drepung Monastery and Ganden Monastery and is a symbol of the Gelug temple in the northern suburbs of Lhasa. The monastery was built in 1419 and has a large meetinghouse, three universities, and a residence on the eastern side.
